Director of Sales (IT Staffing)

Due to recent growth, Mattaponi Partners, a Baltimore based IT Search firm, is looking for a Director of Sales for their Federal practice. We are a minority owned (Native American), diversity supplier to Fortune 50’s to small and large size companies and corporations across the country (many of whose names you probably already know).

Mattaponi was started in 2012 to serve our client’s IT staffing needs. We have continued to grow our commercial practice and with some recent government awards (HUBZone and GSA schedule and soon to be SBA 8(a)), we need a strong leader who can help us grow this side of the business. So what’s in it for you?

Are you tired of working for someone else and having them make all the money while you get a pittance when it comes to commission? We have been there and have worked for some of the biggest names in the staffing world. Mattaponi pays out larger commissions than those other firms. On top of that, there is no corporate bullshit. You have a good idea on how to grow market share, come to the CEO. You have some new tools you heard about in the marketplace, let’s give them a try and see if they can get us candidates/clients more quickly than our competition. It’s all about collaboration with us. It’s a simple formula, you succeed and make money, the company succeeds and makes money.

Are you a senior BD and interested in the next step in your career in staffing? Are you a current Manager looking to build out a team and vertical on your own? This is essentially an entrepreneurial position. We want this person to come in and make this their own and grow it. This role is going to allow the right candidate to come in and essentially build out their own team and be your own boss. You will have full P&L responsibility for the government line of business. You will make the final hiring decisions on who you want to join YOUR team. With our recent HUBZone certification and GSA schedule, you will have several vehicles that will enable you to chase down government business as a differentiator in the space and allow you to collaborate with some of the larger Prime’s on RFP’s, many of whom was have current relationships with already.

Make you meet with 12 candidates a week in the office to interview them in person. Are there metrics and expectations, of course but you are a professional and will be treated as such. You should be old enough now that you don’t need a babysitter at your workplace and quite frankly, we don’t have time to babysit you.
