Network Administrator

This position is responsible for the overall health and performance of corporate networking infrastructure and services. Addresses escalated network and customer issues as directed and within, Standard Operations Procedures (SOP), configures hardware, writes implementation plans, reviews network documentation for accuracy and creates and manages project plans through completion. Reports issues, and assists with a wide range of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
  • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
  • Cross train IT and TOC staff by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
  • Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Performs advanced configuration of firewalls from an existing or blank configuration with the ability to create and modify complex rules and configurations.
  • Mentors associates and fosters a learning and growth environment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Cisco Network Administration/Engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience installing and configuring Cisco IOS and Nexus devices.
  • In-depth understanding of routing protocols such as OSPF/EIGRP/BGP.
  • Firewall administration experience.
  • Working knowledge of STP and layer 2 design.
  • Experience working with switching protocols such as VPC/LACP/PAgP/Dot1Q/ISL.
  • Experience configuring various types of VPN’s using Cisco equipment: DMVPN/Site to Site/Remote Access.
  • Understanding of load balancing using multiple vendor solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; with a minimum 7 years of network experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Clinical/Healthcare experience is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • F5 LTM Experience
  • Next Generation Firewall Experience
  • CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or CCIE
