Senior Security Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance about security issues to senior management.
  • Ensure the adherence to industry standards and best practices for all Information Security related responsibilities. This includes but is not limited to datacenters, networks, telephony, systems, databases, applications, and physical security systems.
  • Define corporate security requirements and evaluate systems to determine if they are appropriate and comply with established security standards.
  • Ensure that appropriately-managed controls are in place to meet the legal and regulatory compliance requirements of all networks and systems.
  • Assist in the enforcement of security policies in all phases of planning, implementation, training and monitoring.
  • Participate in the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of security systems (Perimeter, IPS, DLP, AV, Malware, Patching, DDoS) in support of security policies;
  • Perform internal risk assessments in cooperation with IT staff and business units.
  • Primary security systems administrator, responsible for configuration and maintenance of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, authentication and privilege management systems, enterprise endpoint protection, threat detection, and software deployment tools.
  • Participate in investigations of security incidents while preparing incident report documents.
  • Validate and test security architecture and design solutions to produce detailed engineering specifications with recommended vendor technologies.
  • Lead development, testing and QA functions to ensure that projects are delivered securely and fulfill expectations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with teams and third parties for security development and support issues.
  • Be a member of the Security Incident Response Team. Provide the highest level of technical consultancy to ensure problem resolution is achieved in the shortest possible timeframe.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or similar).
  • CISSP certification required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of security engineering experience, specifically in networks, systems, database and operations.
  • System administration experience in Windows and Unix environments.
  • Experience with all aspects of high availability fault tolerant architectures.
  • Extensive expertise in developing and supporting complex security solutions is required.
  • Experience using scripting languages to automate tasks and manipulate data; programming experience is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding and working knowledge of OWASP.
